 Completed in Rosso Chiaro with black Daytona interior and specified with desirable headlamp covers, chassis 06092 was supplied new by The Gordon Garage, Dulwich, on 12 May 1973 to its first owner, Mr W. H. S. Latham of London. Remarkably, the car retains its original order form, delivery record, warranty booklet, service documentation and an extensive collection of invoices dating back to new. The original delivery record even notes the car’s mileage of just 163 miles, together with its original key numbers. Mr Latham enjoyed the Dino exactly as Ferrari intended, covering more than 17,000 miles during his first year of ownership alone. 

Throughout the 1970s and early 1980s the car was maintained regardless of cost by Graypaul Motors, with the accompanying history file containing original Ferrari workshop records, invoices and Mot certificates documenting regular servicing and meticulous maintenance. By 1982 the car had covered just under 47,000 miles, before being placed into storage for the next twelve years. 

In 1994 the Dino was acquired by Mr Glen Percival of the Isle of Man, who soon entrusted the car to renowned Ferrari specialist Nick Cartwright for a comprehensive restoration. Carried out between 1995 and 1998, the work encompassed the body, chassis, interior and mechanical components, including a full engine rebuild, returning the car to its original factory specification. The documented restoration exceeded £51,000, an extraordinary investment at the time and one that underpins the car’s outstanding presentation today. 

Following completion of the restoration, the Dino passed through a small number of enthusiast custodians before being acquired by J. W. Langrishe through DK Engineering in September 2009. Throughout this period the car continued to benefit from the attention of respected Ferrari specialists including DK Engineering, Nick Cartwright Specialist Cars and GTO Engineering, the latter describing the car in 2014 as a well restored example with excellent mechanical characteristics and a corrosion-free body. 

Acquired by its current owner in 2017, chassis 06092 has continued to benefit from substantial documented investment. Some of its most recent work included rebuilt cylinder heads, new valve guides and valves, replacement head gaskets, a cooling system overhaul and a new clutch.  

Mechanically, the car starts readily, idles smoothly and pulls strongly through all five gears. It delivers the engaging driving experience for which the Dino 246 GT is rightly renowned. 

Beautifully presented, exceptionally documented and benefiting from significant recent mechanical investment, this is a very nice example of Ferrari’s legendary Dino 246 GT, ready to be enjoyed by its next custodian.
